Environmental Flow (E-Flow) Assessment
We determine the environmental flow that must be released downstream to sustain the river ecosystem, taking into account the hydrological regime, seasonality, aquatic habitat requirements and the project’s operating conditions.
Using appropriate methods, low-flow characteristics and ecological needs are evaluated, and project-specific e-flow recommendations are developed with a clearly stated technical rationale. The aim is to help strike a sustainable balance between water use objectives and the core functions of the river ecosystem.
