Biodiversity – Flora and Fauna Surveys
Flora and fauna are studied through seasonal, site-specific fieldwork to identify the biodiversity values of the project area.
Species distribution, habitat use, endemism, national conservation status and IUCN Red List categories are assessed, and sensitive species and habitats are identified. The findings provide the basis for developing avoidance, minimization, restoration and, where necessary, offset approaches within the framework of project design and the mitigation hierarchy.
